Safety Dance!

Ok, so I have recently posted about my new favorite brand, Blackheart Beauty. Which as you may recall, is from Hot Topic and the bottles look like skulls.  Recently I purchased a few more and today I am gonna show you Safety Dance, and Royally Screwed. I picked them up and held them together and knew they were destined to be together. Safety Dance is a road cone orange jelly that goes on beautifully opaque in 3 coats. Royally Screwed is a clear base with blue glitter in small and medium hexes. They are a match made in heaven. The stamping on these is done in Orly Sweet Peacock.

I thought my nails looked like some sort of sports fan's display, so I stamped a unicorn. I imagine the team would be the Nebraska Fightin Corns. They are pretty big on the polo circuit, did you know the Fightin Corns scored 42 baskets last season without any fumbles making them par for the course? Hell yeah, go Fightin Corns!

Enough of my sillyness, go paint yer nails!

P.S. This is one of the black light colors and it is the shiznite!

Bat-Mani!

Tonight I am going to spend around 9 hours sitting in front of the big screen. It sounds awful, but it will be Batman! Batman is worth 9 hours in a horrible seat next to other sweaty nerd bodies, oh it just makes me tingle. Anyway, I thought that Icing Shredded would make great clouds of bats. So, I made a black and grey gradient (been wanting to try that for some time) and put two coats of shredded over the top. Perfection!

I painted the bat symbol with acrylics. Love it!

Have to go get ready now.

Happy Bat-icures!

New Ring!!!

Heyguesswhat?!?! I got a new engagement ring! I originally had a beautiful sapphire ring, the sapphire was purple that changed to blue in certain lighting.  But, stupid me, I lost it in the bathroom at school.  I have felt so horrible about it. But recently, my lovely Fiance said that I could pick out a new ring if I wanted. I had seen a beautiful blue opal ring at one of the zoo gift shops we went to recently, and knew that's what I wanted.  I found "the one" at our 4th of July festival in the park.  One of those booths with all the pretty handmade silver jewelry caught my eye. I was with my bestie Bob and I fell in love. The rest is history.
The next day I realized that I had nail polish that would match the opal perfectly, so I did a matchy-mani.  I think I might coin that. Here ya go!

The colors I used were China Glaze - Blue Year's Eve, and Zoya - Maisie.
BYE is a beautiful blue metal flake. Maisie is a teal flakie. The stamping design was from the new mash set and done in Orly Dazzle.  I loved this design so much I made some earrings for myself.

I have gauged ears and I got the idea of just painting existing earrings. I bought these for $3 (they had the words "epic fail" on them, lol irony) and just painted them. Cool huh?

Ultimate Hero!

Today I have the ultimate hero, The Crowing! From the series Amory Wars by Claudio Sanchez(Lead singer of Coheed and Cambria). The Crowing is young Claudio Kilagannon. His parents killed his brother and sisters and then killed eachother as part of a master plan by Ultimate Villain Wilhelm Ryan.  Claudio was spared, to Ryan's chagrin. The prophecy in the Ghansgraad says that the Crowing will come and defeat the man that defies God. The most recent comic so far only has a few fleeting images of The Crowing so I apologize for the simplicity of this mani.  I plan on redoing it when the new comics are released.  By the way, All the albums done by Coheed and Cambria follow this story line. It's a pretty incredible project.

I really enjoyed this whole challenge and hope to do more in the future.  I have started school again so posts may be few and far between for the next two months.  But, I'll try and post sometimes so you know I'm alive.

Happy Manicures!

Happy 4th of July!

I love me some fireworks! So shiny.
...shiny...

Sorry. I went to space for a minute there. Shiny, like my mani today! I also love me some orly metallics.  I started my whole collection with some boring Sally Hansons and Wet n Wild.  When I started reading nail blogs, I ran out and bought Orly Dazzle. That was in November, now I'm on my second bottle.  I started lemming Sweet Peacock shortly after that. Guess what? Just a few months ago, Orly brought it back! I snatched that one up quick. Finally just the other day I bought Orly Rock It.  It's gorgeous! So what does all this mean?

Super Shiny 4th of July Mani!!!

Behold...

Shiny fireworks and wavy flags and happiness. These pictures do not do it justice at all.
SOOOOOOOOO SHINY!!!!!

I really love all these polishes, they are super easy to apply, opaque in only two coats! They are also great stamping polishes, perfectly beautiful over black.  Actually I lie, I have not tried to stamp with Rock It (red), but I bet it's great.

Since this is a scheduled post, I have no idea what I am doing today. I think I am seeing Spider Man. The new one of course.  Hopefully with some friends. Well, thank you all for reading.

Have a great 4th!

As always, Happy Manicures!

Ultimate Villain!

I have been waiting for today this whole time. Today I will introduce you to one of the most amazing comic series ever! Coheed and Cambria is a band that I love.  All their songs are part of a huge story called the Amory Wars.  My Villain and Hero for this week are from this series.
The Villain's name is Wilhelm Ryan.  He thinks he's God.  A long time ago, 3 beings were created, The Knowledge, The Beast, and The Inferno.  To have their powers and fulfil their purposes they were infected with the Monstar virus.  Coheed(The Beast) and Cambria(The Knowledge) had their memories erased and had children. Jesse(The Inferno) did not have his memory erased but flies the galaxy and acts as Coheed's brother.  One day Mayo Deftinwolf, one of Wilhelm Ryan's henchmen, finds Coheed and tells him about the virus.  He says that they passed it on to their kids and called it the Sinstar virus.  He said they had a way to fight the Monstar but not the Sinstar and that Coheed had to kill his children. He believed Deftinwolf and poisoned the twins and killed Josie with a hammer. One kid remained, he never got Claudio. Deftinwolf took Coheed and Cambria to another planet in the keywork. (There are 78 planets all held together by heaven's fence, it's called the keywork.) Wilhelm Ryan then had him release these dragonflies that had the catalyst for the Monstar virus which would make them transform into the beings they were meant to be.  Coheed turns into the Monstar, embodying the virus and jumps to one of the stars that power the keywork. Cambria turned into The White Ruineer, the only thing that can stop the Monstar.  Monstar put out the star, turning it into a planet. The White Ruineer came and killed him, and then re-lit the star only making it more powerful.  It became a sun.  The nine planets closest to it broke away from the keywork and began orbiting the new sun. Now, since Coheen and Cambria are dead, there is only one person who can stop Ryan.  Claudio. In the Gannsgrahd he is called the Crowing and he will Destroy the man that defies God.
Ok, if you want to know more read the comics. Here's my art:

Wilhelm Ryan is disgusting and creepy and he dies but then comes back to life. It's crazy!

That's all I got for today, but don't forget to check out weds and thurs, 4th of July and My Ultimate Hero posts.

Happy Manicures!
