Ombre not Hombre

Oh ombre, where have you been all my life.  I have seen tons of ombre manis on the blogs and I realized I had tons of blues and could probably pull it off.

Oh, yes. Sooooo pretty.
Pinky - All Night Long by Pure Ice
Ring - Blue Year's Eve by China Glaze
Middle - Sweet Peacock by Orly
Index - Blue Iguana by China Glaze
Thumb - A light blue franken I made. Call it Nice Ice

I have had a polisher's block lately so this is actually kind of old. I have a ton of stuff that I haven't published yet. I figured that I would post old stuff for now until I get out of this funk.

Monkey See Monkey Do!

Today I have a lovely Monkey See Monkey Do that I am copying straight from Emma Thea at Manicurity!

Here's her design for the hunger games challenge, District 13:

Aren't they great? She used a base of OPI Number One Nemesis and the goo is Orly Glowstick.  I love it! It looks so toxic.

So, I tried it:

I also used OPI Number One Nemesis, but I mattified it with Warpaint Beauty Matte, and the goo is China Glaze Sun-Kissed.  I like hers a bit better in the pics, but mine was still cool in real life. I had to lower the red tones a bit to get it the color it is, I should have done a touch more. Anyways, make sure to check out her Blog, she's got some really great nail art!

New Ring!!!

Heyguesswhat?!?! I got a new engagement ring! I originally had a beautiful sapphire ring, the sapphire was purple that changed to blue in certain lighting.  But, stupid me, I lost it in the bathroom at school.  I have felt so horrible about it. But recently, my lovely Fiance said that I could pick out a new ring if I wanted. I had seen a beautiful blue opal ring at one of the zoo gift shops we went to recently, and knew that's what I wanted.  I found "the one" at our 4th of July festival in the park.  One of those booths with all the pretty handmade silver jewelry caught my eye. I was with my bestie Bob and I fell in love. The rest is history.
The next day I realized that I had nail polish that would match the opal perfectly, so I did a matchy-mani.  I think I might coin that. Here ya go!

The colors I used were China Glaze - Blue Year's Eve, and Zoya - Maisie.
BYE is a beautiful blue metal flake. Maisie is a teal flakie. The stamping design was from the new mash set and done in Orly Dazzle.  I loved this design so much I made some earrings for myself.

I have gauged ears and I got the idea of just painting existing earrings. I bought these for $3 (they had the words "epic fail" on them, lol irony) and just painted them. Cool huh?

CopyCat

Actually It's called Monkey See Monkey Do monday.  I have seen this on a lot of blogs and since I get my inspiration from fellow bloggers I thought I'd participate in this.  It may not be every monday but today is one that is really cool.  Lucy over at Lucy's Stash did this design for a pink and blue challenge on June 6th.  I decided to copy it.  I did mine a little differently, I used Pink Voltage and Blue Year's Eve by China Glaze. She used Love's a Beach by China Glaze and Ibiza by Zoya.  I also added a rhinestone, way to be unique right?

So, besides being less than crisp, what do you think?  I love the pink and blue combo.  And this pink is eye blastingly bright by itself. Oh yeah, the rhinestones (or studs) came off my shirt while I was doing the manicure so I just stuck em on. LOL

Wedding!

Yay! Congratulations Jenn and Michael! On May 12th these two wonderful people got married and my lovely Dingus officiated!  Not enough exclamation marks to express the joy!

Happy Couple!

Their colors were purple and peach and hot pink.  I did some nails for the Best Lady, a friend of mine and her hubby, Sweetpea, and myself.  I forgot to get pics of Sweetpea's nails and I should have, they were a pretty glitter purple with turquoise dried flowers on the thumbs(only nails they would fit). Oh well, here's the rest:

These are mine, boring cuz I was working on everyone else's lol. It's my color club franken Purple Paradise and Orly's Luxe. Simple and Sweet.

These are the nails of the Best Lady.  She is a really good friend of our and theirs of course.  The groomspeople were all wearing purple and black pinstripe and so I did my Purple Paradise with a black striper on top.  Then added the flower decals.  She was super happy!

This is Eskimo Pie, one of my besties.  Her hubby was one of the groomspeople and she's not very girly but had some really nice girly clothes on for the wedding.  I offered to do her nails in something that was kinda her style. That's a white creme from Pure Ice and A purple crackle from China Glaze.

This is her hubby Cynical Abe.  The beard below is why we call him Abe, he looks amish.  We got on a discussion of how Penn Gillette paints one nail for sleight of had purposes and decided he needed one nail painted.

The camera came out and he got creative, LOL.

And this is my beautiful family.  My love: Dingus, the cheesy Miss SweatPea, and me: Mograt.

Well, there you have it, a new post!

Little things make me happy!

I am actually kind of excited.  One of my classes requires me to purchase my own domain name and hosting site.  So in non-techie terms, I'm gonna have my own website soon! Woo Hoo! I was trying to think of a domain name for myself and the website(Dreamhost) mashed my name up and came up with one for me, Amarapos. I think it sounds pretty cool, don't you? My blog will probably be moving there, but don't worry I will direct you to the right place. :)
I don't really have anything new on my nails at the moment, but I do have a pic of a neat design I did for my tea party not too long ago. It's a white base with most of my blues on it.  Makes me think of bubbles.  The blues are, in order from dark to light: Royal by Revlon, Blue Iguana by China Glaze, Blue Me Away! by Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear, a metal flake and light blue franken I made, and Bikini by Pure Ice.
Here's a pic:

My nails were nice and long, the dots are nice and round. Ah, I love it!

I think it is now time for bed.  I have school early tomorrow.
