HillBilly Bling!!

I am very excited to introduce you to a brand new polish system, Hill Billy Bling!
This system was developed by Mary and Danny and it is inspired by the metal flake paint process that they use on the classic cars they restore. I personally love the metal flake finish on classic cars, so when I heard of this I offered my blog for their first official review. So without further ado:

I was at a birthday party when I heard about this polish. My friend was talking to someone I didn't know about polish, my ears burned and I stepped in. Mary went into detail about how they created this polish and then this company and how they would be at a car show in a week to show it off and sell the kits.  This is their booth:

Mary was doing toes to show off their polish!
This one is SweetPea:

And this is the packaging, super cute!

I love green, so naturally, that is the color I got!

In the Kit, you get:

Base Color and Top Coat:

The base color is a kelly green jelly. It went on pretty smoothly, was a little streaky and thin, but it was just to give a background to the glitter, so I only used one coat.

Glitter:

The glitter is super shiny green mini rectangles. I haven't seen glitter like this before.

And Witty Instructions:

First, paint the base color(really first put on your base coat to protect your nails as always!):

Put a little Glitter and Top Coat in the extra empty container:

Paint the glitter over the base coat and when that's dry add the top coat, Voila:

Indirect Natural Light

Sunshine!

Oh, so glittery and beautiful! The other colors are Red, Gold, Purple, and Orange. The only awesome color name I can remember other than the green is Statutory Grape, lol.

This was actually a pretty easy look to accomplish, just follow the directions. The art didn't work so well, the glitter didn't leave a clean line after the tape was removed. But for a full coverage polish it looks great. You can't tell from my pic but it really looks like the car finish. It has a great depth to it, and the colors are vibrant and gorgeous. I had a hard time deciding between the colors, except gold, I'm not a fan of gold in general, but it was super bright and shiny.

There isn't a website yet, but if you are interested in purchasing this awesome new idea in nail lacquer, let me know. You can email me at arpostels[at]gmail[dot]com. I can get a hold of Mary and Danny and get it to you!

Tell me what you think about this idea and the look. Tell me how you feel about the process or the name. We want feedback!

Ombre not Hombre

Oh ombre, where have you been all my life.  I have seen tons of ombre manis on the blogs and I realized I had tons of blues and could probably pull it off.

Oh, yes. Sooooo pretty.
Pinky - All Night Long by Pure Ice
Ring - Blue Year's Eve by China Glaze
Middle - Sweet Peacock by Orly
Index - Blue Iguana by China Glaze
Thumb - A light blue franken I made. Call it Nice Ice

I have had a polisher's block lately so this is actually kind of old. I have a ton of stuff that I haven't published yet. I figured that I would post old stuff for now until I get out of this funk.

Monkey See Monkey Do!

Today I have a lovely Monkey See Monkey Do that I am copying straight from Emma Thea at Manicurity!

Here's her design for the hunger games challenge, District 13:

Aren't they great? She used a base of OPI Number One Nemesis and the goo is Orly Glowstick.  I love it! It looks so toxic.

So, I tried it:

I also used OPI Number One Nemesis, but I mattified it with Warpaint Beauty Matte, and the goo is China Glaze Sun-Kissed.  I like hers a bit better in the pics, but mine was still cool in real life. I had to lower the red tones a bit to get it the color it is, I should have done a touch more. Anyways, make sure to check out her Blog, she's got some really great nail art!

New Ring!!!

Heyguesswhat?!?! I got a new engagement ring! I originally had a beautiful sapphire ring, the sapphire was purple that changed to blue in certain lighting.  But, stupid me, I lost it in the bathroom at school.  I have felt so horrible about it. But recently, my lovely Fiance said that I could pick out a new ring if I wanted. I had seen a beautiful blue opal ring at one of the zoo gift shops we went to recently, and knew that's what I wanted.  I found "the one" at our 4th of July festival in the park.  One of those booths with all the pretty handmade silver jewelry caught my eye. I was with my bestie Bob and I fell in love. The rest is history.
The next day I realized that I had nail polish that would match the opal perfectly, so I did a matchy-mani.  I think I might coin that. Here ya go!

The colors I used were China Glaze - Blue Year's Eve, and Zoya - Maisie.
BYE is a beautiful blue metal flake. Maisie is a teal flakie. The stamping design was from the new mash set and done in Orly Dazzle.  I loved this design so much I made some earrings for myself.

I have gauged ears and I got the idea of just painting existing earrings. I bought these for $3 (they had the words "epic fail" on them, lol irony) and just painted them. Cool huh?

Happy 4th of July!

I love me some fireworks! So shiny.
...shiny...

Sorry. I went to space for a minute there. Shiny, like my mani today! I also love me some orly metallics.  I started my whole collection with some boring Sally Hansons and Wet n Wild.  When I started reading nail blogs, I ran out and bought Orly Dazzle. That was in November, now I'm on my second bottle.  I started lemming Sweet Peacock shortly after that. Guess what? Just a few months ago, Orly brought it back! I snatched that one up quick. Finally just the other day I bought Orly Rock It.  It's gorgeous! So what does all this mean?

Super Shiny 4th of July Mani!!!

Behold...

Shiny fireworks and wavy flags and happiness. These pictures do not do it justice at all.
SOOOOOOOOO SHINY!!!!!

I really love all these polishes, they are super easy to apply, opaque in only two coats! They are also great stamping polishes, perfectly beautiful over black.  Actually I lie, I have not tried to stamp with Rock It (red), but I bet it's great.

Since this is a scheduled post, I have no idea what I am doing today. I think I am seeing Spider Man. The new one of course.  Hopefully with some friends. Well, thank you all for reading.

Have a great 4th!

Disney Hero!

Today we have The Disney Hero.  If you remember, I grabbed the villains from The Emperor's New Groove, so now here are the heroes to save the day.

Emperor Kuzko is a selfish, arrogant, horrible leader of an ancient Inca society. He is turned into a llama by Yzma(the villain from last week) and ends up relying on Pacha for help.  Pacha is a good honest villager who raises llamas and alpacas.  He helps Kuzko back to the palace and back into a human body.  He also helps Kuzko become a better human being and a wonderful leader.  The nail designs are (thumb to pinky)the steamed pill bug for the happy couple, Kuzko's crown, tribal designs from the cover of the movie, Pacha's Village, and Pacha's Poncho. I really like the pill bug and the village.

Yay! Look at the hot steamy pill bug! I Love it.  Well, that's it for me today. Next week I am super excited for the end of this challenge so I can do the ultimate hero and villain.

Disney Villain!

Week 3, Disney!  I was originally thinking princesses and evil witches/queens/stepmothers, but really that's just conditional thinking from my lovely Sweetpea.  I finally started thinking outside the box and came up with my favorite disney movie ever...

Emperor's New Groove!!!

I love that movie! It is so hilarious and the good guy is kind of a minor character.  The bad guys don't die or get banished, one is turned into a kitten and the other becomes a scout leader. The main character is like an antihero.

So, for the villains we have Yzma and Kronk.  Yzma is the real bad guy(gal), Kronk is her henchman and doesn't really realize that he's with a bad guy. For my nails I did (from thumb to pinky): Yzma's Cape thingy, A tribal design in yzma's colors, The label on the extract of Llama, Kronk's uniform, and The hammer from Yzma's fantasy.

Favorite quote from these characters:
"I know, I'll turn him into a flea, a harmless little flea. Then I'll put him in a box and put that box inside another box and I'll mail that box to myself.  And when it arrives, HA HA HA, I'LL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!!!" LOL

OK, here are the pics:

I love the llama label.  I'm going to do a whole mani with animal silhouettes.

On thursday the heroes come to save the day!

Copper Goodness

I have a beautiful mani to show you today.  It is the weirdest polish I own.  It looks like a purple jelly with copper micro glitter.  But it comes out just copper.  When you take it off, the cotton pads are even purple.  It's so strange.

Here are a couple of bottle shots of the base color Ingenue, by Orly.

I added a rose gold glitter top coat and INM Northern Lights just to add to the sparkle.  I really loved this mani.

Then, I mattified it with Warpaint Beauty Matte top coat. This is the best matte I have found anywhere.  It is sadly being discontinued but my Hot Topic had them on clearance for 99 cents. I bought the rest of them.  It is even and smooth and dries slower than other mattes which I really like.

Like I said, I love this mani, it's so pretty. Like Rose Gold.

Happy Manicures!

MOAR SKULLS!!!

I was so happy with Blue Me by Blackheart, that I had to go get more.  I now have a family of Seven Blackheart Nail Lacquers! They are available at Hot Topic stores and Hot Topic Online for just $5(plus shipping if you order online). They are vegen friendly, which I'm not sure if that really means anything in polish.  They smell funny, and it makes me sneeze, but they are by far the best polishes I own.  The formula is incredible. Super smooth, super shiny, and gorgeous!  I want the rest of the line. Here's what I have so far:

If I could figure out how to do a page break I would.  This is a pic heavy post and I apologize if this sucks for you.

Here are the individual bottles and swatches.  All of them are 3 coats, no top coat. I didn't use a top coat because they all have unique finishes.

Beautiful Revenge

This one is like a jelly sandwich in a bottle.  This is three coats and I think it is perfect.  The glitter is well proportioned and it covers nicely.

WTFuchsia

This one is a nice neon-ish fuchsia.  I say neon-ish because it doesn't dry as matte as my other neons but it has a nice satin finish.

Violet Tendancies

This one is so pretty! I'll have to do a comparison because it looks exactly like the purple color club franken I did a while back Purple Paradise.  This is from me remembering the color though so they could be quite different.

Shocking Pink

I think this one has a crappy name.  I mean Shocking Pink? Come on.  It's more of a coral anyways.  But it does have a nice satin finish and is a great color.  I'm excited to wear this one.

Deceit

I have a teal like this from Zoya, but this one has tiny glitter along with the flakies.  The jelly base is super squishy too.  I love this one, I wanna layer it over shocking pink!

Blue Me

This one I've already reviewed but I love it so much I can't stop talking about it.  I'm wearing it right now and it's the second time I've worn it.  I am all about art but this one is so gorgeous I do very minimal stuff to it.  It is super shiny, super jelly, and super fantastic. Ok, I'll stop now. LOL

P.S. This one is black light responsive! My phone has a nervous breakdown when I try to photograph it, but it is super cool, trust me.

Creep Show

I also really like this one.  It doesn't get very opaque on real nails, but it'd be awesome over a lime neon.  I've seen it over white and it really tames down and doesn't look as toxic.  Anyways it's got glitter in it and it glows in the dark. Win!

I love these polishes and I recommend everyone buy them. If you like bright colors, these are it.  There are also a lot more black light and glowy ones, I'll get those next.

Hope you enjoyed these!

Happy Manicures!

Oh, P.S. Do you like my new watermark?
