My Precious! Color Club - Take Wing

I am so excited today! I have the best new collection to show you.  It's called Take Wing, by Color Club.  I had never heard of Color Club before but when I saw this post by The PolishAholic, I actually bought my first two within the hour.  They're that awesome. You can get them at Rite-Aid, that's the only place I've found them. Ok, so I'll quit my jabber, here are the pics!

Here are all the colors included in the collection:

Wing Fling

Sparkle and Soar

Daisy Does It

Fly With Me

Metamorphosis

Sky High
I was really upset that they didn't make a purple, so I made one! I mixed some Sky High with some Take Wing. You like?

I think I'll call it Purple Paradise

Here are some more lovely pics of the collection plus my purple.

And here are the first designs I did with my new beauties:

The sun was even shining!

So what do you think of this collection?

Oh man, I hope I win!

I just entered a giveaway on Prim and Polished and I am super excited.  I really hope I win.  She is giving away:

  2. China Glaze: Swing Baby
  3. China Glaze: Sugar High
  4. Nicole by OPI Texture Coat: Black
  5. Nicole by OPI Texture Coat: White
  6. Nicole by OPI Texture Coat: Red
  7. OPI: Ink

  11. Nicole by OPI Texture Coat: Gold

  13. Zoya: Demi

I am most excited about #7, I have seen a lot of posts with that color and it looks so cool.  It's like a tattoo ink dark blue color with a striper brush I believe.  Also, I have been looking for zoya polishes for a while and I would really like to try it out. Not to mention my unnatuaral fondness for crackles.  This would be perfect and I can't resist free stuff!  If you want to enter too you have to be a follower but check out my link and I promise you'll want to follow her anyway.

Happy Birthday Gina!!

FAIL

So, I didn't put up a post for day 6 of the black and white challenge, I've been sick.  I'm still wearing the polish though so I was going to take pictures today.  I got out my camera and put the battery in and whaddya know? The charger didn't charge it.  I dunno what's wrong, but I have bad luck with cameras and chargers anyways.  I think I may want a new one anyways, this one is about 6 years old.  I don't know what to get though. I have always gone for fujifilm, it's cheap but not too cheap. Cannon seems to be good too.  Maybe I'll just have to go shopping.  So, sorry I don't have any pictures to post today. I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

Day 4 and 5 Black and White challenge

I must be a Betazoid. (Yes, I have been watching too much star trek) Whenever someone else is unhappy, I am unhappy.  Dingus has been really depressed lately and I can't help but feel the same way.  So, I've been painting my nails, and photographing, but not posting.  I didn't feel like I had anything good to say.  Last night we had a great night and today I feel refreshed.  So, now I am posting, lol.
First I have day 4 White base with color. I used a pearl white base by Essie called Oui Madame, and sponged on in order from pinky to thumb: Flirt Alert by Pure Ice (pink), Sun Kissed by Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear(orange), Mellow Yellow by Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear(yellow, duh), Wild Thing by Pure Ice(green), Blue Raspberry Taffy by Finger Paints(blue, duh), and Charged Up by Orly(purple).
Here are some pics!

Day 5 was color with black, I know this one is more black and white and color but I think the black designs over the color are what really make this design.  I bought a new shirt for girls night and it's awesome!  It's a pretty white flowy shirt with a mishmash of butterflies flowers and animal print! It sounds awful but it is gorgeous.  It also inspired my favorite manicure ever! Behold, Butterflies and nonsense:

I love this mani so hard! the white is Superstar by Pure Ice, the black stamping is Black Creme by Wet 'n Wild, and sadly the colors are some frankens I made up.  I loved Dazzle by Orly(silver) so much that I made several frankens in different colors with it.  For the butterfly stripes I used a black striper by K.I.S.S.  and they were inspired by this post at Amber Did It.
I just can't get enough of them.

Little things make me happy!

I am actually kind of excited.  One of my classes requires me to purchase my own domain name and hosting site.  So in non-techie terms, I'm gonna have my own website soon! Woo Hoo! I was trying to think of a domain name for myself and the website(Dreamhost) mashed my name up and came up with one for me, Amarapos. I think it sounds pretty cool, don't you? My blog will probably be moving there, but don't worry I will direct you to the right place. :)
I don't really have anything new on my nails at the moment, but I do have a pic of a neat design I did for my tea party not too long ago. It's a white base with most of my blues on it.  Makes me think of bubbles.  The blues are, in order from dark to light: Royal by Revlon, Blue Iguana by China Glaze, Blue Me Away! by Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear, a metal flake and light blue franken I made, and Bikini by Pure Ice.
Here's a pic:

My nails were nice and long, the dots are nice and round. Ah, I love it!

I think it is now time for bed.  I have school early tomorrow.

Day 3!

Yay! Day 3! So, today is Black Base with Color.  I found this awesome new black which has black glitter! I actually found it in quite a few different brands but I bought it in pure ice, to save money while trying something new.  It's called Electric!, the other two colors are some un-named fluorescent purple from Sally Girl and Blue Raspberry Taffy by Finger Paints.  I got the idea from this post over at Nailside. Here ya go!

The neon purple is actually neon, but it is really thin and comes out a pretty grape over black.  The last picture is a result of all the experimenting I was doing today.  It's in the daylight from my window. I think it looks kind of neat. :)  The top two are my nightstand light.  It's the only one with one of those natural light CFLs.  I think I like those.
Anyways, I really love this new black.  I thought last night it looked like asphalt, so I may do a road trip mani this summer. LOL.

Experiments in Crackle

Here is a recent experiment I did. Crackle is so much fun!
Base(most fingers): Superstar by Pure Ice
Crackle(on most fingers):Strike a Pose by Pure Ice
Base(ring finger and thumb): Sexy in the City by China Glaze
Crackle(ring finger and thumb):Lightning Bolt by China Glaze

Base: Sexy in the City by China Glaze
Crackle: Strike a Pose by Pure Ice
These two designs were experiments in crackle.  I love crackle.  On the first set I wanted to set a contrast on the accent nail: ring finger. On the second, I wanted to prove that the blue base and blue crackle were the same color.  They certainly look like it in the second pic, but they do not in the first. It was kind of weird.

Black and White Day 2!

Today is the second day of the black and white challenge.  The design is a black base (Liquid Vinyl by Orly) with a white design (Lightning Bolt Crackle by China Glaze).  I really love a good crackle.  I remember when they came out several years ago and they were so weird, but I was super excited when they made a comeback.  The first crackle I ever had was white, the problem was that it sucked up the base color around the edges. It looked horrible.  Now the formula is much better and its a nice crisp contrast.  I am really loving this challenge, Black and White are my favorite colors together. It's just beautiful! Ok, so without any more of my ado, here are the pics:

As you can see these are taken in my kitchen.  There are my lovely red towels.
I once tried a crackle over a design and it crackles mostly on the lines of the design, it's pretty neat. Later I might put a teal crackle over the top of this and see what happens. :)  Next up is Black Base with Some Color.  Lol, capital letters.I have an idea for that one already but you'll have to wait and see!

Challenge Accepted!

Hidey Ho!
This time I am posting for a challenge.  Since I started reading nail blogs, I have wanted to participate in a challenge.  I have seen some other challenges before and I think they are great.  How it works is someone comes up with a theme or series of themes and issues a challenge to come up with nail designs that follow the theme(s). This one is a Black and White Challenge issued by Mateja at Purple Glitters.  Some fellow bloggers also in this challenge that you should check out are Nailasaurus, Fab Fingertips, Sincerely Stephanie, The Lacquerologist, Nails and Noms, and Let Them Have Polish!
I wasn't invited this time, but Nailasaurus said it'd be cool if I did it. So, I'm gonna do my best and maybe next time I'll be officially in the challenge! So here is my day one, White base with a Black design.
So I tried to do a white with black stamp and failed miserably.  That's why this post was so late in the day.  But I think it turned out pretty nicely in the end with some decals and black tips. Here is the official challenge:

Here is the Schedule:
1. White base with black ( 1st Apr 2012)
2. Black base with white (4th Apr 2012)
